Health Matters

June 16, 2008 at 2:49 pm (Health) (, , , , , , , , , , , , , , )

This past year in the midst of the holiday rush I decided I did not want to be a part of all that noise and business so decided I was going to buy my gifts online and send them directly to my friends and families but offcorse i had waited until it was to late to go that route. So This year unlike every other year I am planning ahead tring to find the perfact gift for each family member which is hard because the adults have everything they want and the teenagers want everything they can get. So this year I am with things each person might need. For example I have a grandpa who suffers from poor circulation so I started looking for a product that might help and ran across a company called Contour MD that sells commpression stockings. For my sister-in-law I bought her some medical scrubs so that when she graduates from Nursing School next spring she will be ready to go right to work! For my mother I bought her a years worth of Weight Watchers Meetings that we both can go to and lose those extra 20 pounds we’ve been working on for years. My sister wants to go back to school to be a massage therapist and so we sent her money so she could get by while she goes to http://www.chac.com. And for my teenage boys I will buy a weight machine  and free weights so they can stay in shape for football all year long. Finally a year where I do not feel like I am just wasting my money on frivolous gifts, nor do I feel like I am in a rush. Instead Iam promoting a year of heath and happiness!

Drugs In Our Drinking Water???

March 11, 2008 at 1:13 pm (Health) (, , , )

Did you hear the news??? I heard that they recently found the following drugs in our drinking water such as, antibiotics, anti-depressants, birth control pills, seizure medication, cancer treatments, pain killers, tranquilizers and cholesterol-lowering compounds have been detected in varied water sources.

So after hearing about this I decided to do more research and sure enough it true!

Thankfully for several years now my family has been drinking clean water from a local company because I had hear several years ago about all the contaminates that could be in our water such as lead and asbestos. If you are as concerned about this as I am then please consider your families health and look in to purchasing a clean water system.

Here are a couple of good companies I know of www.raynewater.com and www.culligan.com. Also both of these companies offer great water softeners too which can help promote longevity in your appliances as well as your clothing.

To Get Breast Surgery or Not to Get Breast Surgery?

January 29, 2008 at 4:55 pm (Health) (, , , )

In today’s ever changing world there is not much out there stopping a person from having the perfect body and achieving their idea of beauty. But is it worth it? Not only can breast surgery be costly but there are still some small health risks involved. So again I ask is it worth it? Well I would have to say that it all depends on the person and the reasons for wanting these changes. For example I know of a young girl who was a DD at age eighteen and already she was showing signs of back and shoulder problems not to mention her terrible self esteem issues. So after discussing breast reduction with their doctor they came to the conclusion that Amy would be a great candidate for Breast a Reduction.  Then there is my aunt who has had a breast reconstruction after her mastectomy again doctors and specialists concluded she would be a good candidate for a breast reconstruction.  On the other hand I know of a lady who decided to get a breast enlargement from a C cup to a DD cup only so that other would notice her and now 5 years later she has come to regret this decision.  Now I am not trying to judge people who do get plastic surgery I am just proposing that we look deep inside ourselves and ask “WHY DO WE WANT TO DO THIS?” And “IS IT WORTH THE COST?”  For some it is the right decision and for other it’s not.  Make your self a list and answer yourself honestly.Reasons why I should get this procedure done:Reasons why I should not have this procedure done:Good Luck with this decision!
